Coated cutting tools have been a staple in the industry for nearly 50 years. Today, approximately 85% of all carbide cutting tools are coated. Demands for ever higher productivity of production processes lead to the development of ever new tool materials and coatings. The development of PVD coatings began with the most recognizable TiN coating. Demands for ever better properties later led to the development of coatings based on TiAlN, TiCN and CrN. By adding the chemical composition and structure of the coating, the properties of the coating are successfully improved. Thus, nanostructured, multi-component PVD coatings became established on the market extremely quickly. The demand for innovative approaches to cutting tools will remain in the future, which also includes the development of new, even more effective PVD coatings.

ALUCROM Because it is very thin but also hard, this coating is a great choice for reamers. Pošljite povpraševanje Advantages Properties Applications Advantages High hardness of the coating → Protection against abrasive wear, resulting in longer tool life High temperature resistance of the coating → Enables wet and dry processing A coating that is smooth and at the same time does not round the cutting edge of the tool → Excellent choice for reamers. Properties Based on AlCrN Color: metallic gray Nano hardness: 41+-3 GPa Maximum processing temperature > 1000 °C Applications Reaming Processing of non-ferrous materials Intensive cooling or dry treatment
