Forming

Unlike cutting tools, most shaping tools are still uncoated. The main reason for this is the larger sizes and complex shapes of the tools, which can make it challenging to ensure good adhesion between the substrate and the PVD coating. Nevertheless, in recent times, coating methods and types of coatings with excellent tribological properties have been established, which significantly improve the adhesion (forming of aluminum alloys and stainless steel) and abrasion (high-strength steels) wear resistance of forming tools.

Super-TiN

Super-TiN

The first known TiN coating is still well recognized around the world with its recognizable gold color. With the modified SuperTiN coating, you can improve the sliding properties of the tool, improve its appearance and prevent the formation of stickers on the tool. Coating can also be applied to tools at a temperature of around 200 °C.
